In the Leningrad region, on the night of May 20-21, a one-year-old child was abducted from an apartment in the village of Oredezh. According to RBC, a drunken married couple – a 42-year-old serviceman from the Luga military unit and a 34-year-old resident of Zaklinya – broke into the apartment and grabbed the child.
The girl was at home with her grandmother, as her parents left to celebrate the birthday of her eldest son in Pushkin. The kidnappers started a fight, pushed the grandmother away from the child, threatened her and left with the girl in a taxi in an unknown direction. The parents of the child, having learned about the incident, contacted the police and reported that they knew the kidnappers.
It was established that the families had known each other for about two years, met on the playground, and corresponded. The last meeting with the couple took place on the eve of the abduction, while in the conversation the girl’s mother mentioned that she would like to move and live separately from her grandmother, but so far the family does not have such an opportunity. As a result, the drunken couple decided to “save” the child from the grandmother. The military man and his wife believe that they acted for good reasons.
The traffic police detained a taxi with the kidnappers and the girl half an hour after the child’s mother called at the entrance to the village of Zaklinye. The child was sent to the Luga hospital, her condition is satisfactory. The kidnappers are in a pre-trial detention center and are waiting for the election of a preventive measure. A criminal case has been initiated under the article “Kidnapping of a person by a group of persons”, the punishment for which is imprisonment from 5 to 12 years.
