Two members of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society and human rights were searched. MK writes about it.

According to the publication, we are talking about Tatyana Margolina and Svetlana Makovetskaya.

It is noted that the searches took place on May 19, 2023 in the case of the alleged export of documents from the Perm “Memorial” (in Russia recognized as a foreign agent, liquidated by the court – approx. ed.). The publication indicates that neither Svetlana Makovetskaya nor Tatyana Margolina have ever been members of the organization, but as part of their human rights activities, they communicated with all NGOs.

According to MK, all the equipment and an archive of documents of one of the family members were confiscated in Makovetskaya’s house.

Earlier, the media reported that investigators opened a criminal case against the former head of the Perm branch of the Memorial society, Robert Latypov, and the chairman of the Perm Center for Historical Memory, Alexander Chernyshov. The case was opened under an article on attempted smuggling of cultural property.

Searches were also reported at the homes of activist Oksana Asaulenko, journalist Tatyana Cherepanova, lawyer Sergei Maksimov, and Nadezhda Agisheva, founder of the New Collection Foundation.
