After a meeting between the presidents of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, and of Colombia, Iván Duque, it was decided to return to the border movement since December.

To pass from Ecuador to Colombia or vice versa, from next Wednesday, December 1, it will be necessary to comply with certain requirements that show that people do not carry the coronavirus.

The Minister of Health, Ximena Garzón, indicated that on December 1 there will be a bilateral event vaccination.

Garzón said that people will be able to cross the border using their vaccination card in which it is evidenced that you have received the two doses vaccine against COVID-19, as happens in airports.

“If people do not want to be vaccinated, vaccination is free, because they will have to submit a PCR (test) certificate and if not, then they have to present their vaccination certificate stating the doses, “he said this Wednesday, in a conversation with the media.

That way, he added, there will be the security that people who cross the border they are not a risk to produce an epidemiological outbreak.

He added that there will be vaccination brigades on both sides of the border and the so-called Phoenix plan has been activated, at the level of the border cordon, so that in the event of an outbreak, it can be controlled immediately.
