The prison guide assigned to his custody was arrested because he was not in the prisoner’s room.
An inmate who was injured in the recent massacre at the Litoral Penitentiary tried to escape this Tuesday night from the Guasmo hospital, located in the south of Guayaquil.
In fact, the suspect managed to leave the hospital and was detected by a policeman guarding the outside of the medical home. It happened at 8:30 p.m., minutes after a doctor alerted that the patient was not in bed.
The uniformed man managed to catch the prisoner meters before reaching the street. The gendarme reported that the man wore an apron and was posing as a doctor, but was limping. He was identified as Miguel Fernando FV
He is one of the 44 injured who caused the riots in the Penitentiary. Another 65 inmates died. The Police associated this massacre with a gang struggle to take control of the pavilions.

After his capture, he was immediately returned to his room, located on the third floor of the Ministry of Health hospital.

The Police reported that the prison guide was found on another floor of the building and that he was apprehended and transferred to the Model Barracks Prosecutor’s Office, where the flagrante delicto hearing was held on Wednesday morning. The recaptured prisoner was also transferred to the diligence.
The police ordered that several security videos of the hospital be taken to determine the circumstances of the escape and if he received help from someone else.
The inmate entered the hospital ten days ago with injuries to his arms and legs. He was about to be discharged when he tried to escape from the public sanatorium.
