In addition, not very diverse vocabulary may be a marker. Lies are based on no specific empirical experience, so they are less specific and descriptive. When a person is lying, he does not go into too much detail and is not too verbose. A person tries to speak less so as not to get confused in his own legend. According to experts, if the story is true, it will be filled with more words, synonyms, more descriptive and vivid.

Another point worth paying attention to is “persuasive” wording. According to the researchers, very often liars use the words “always”, “absolutely”, “never” – a kind of verbal absolutes. This is done in order to convince the interlocutor that they are telling the truth. At the same time, a person who does not lie will more often use wording that expresses doubt: “maybe” or “maybe”.
