Four aircraft were shot down in the Bryansk region. As RBC reports with reference to BelTA, this was stated by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

According to him, in Belarus they were “forced to react” after “four aircraft were shot down” in the Bryansk region.

“We had to react to it. Since then, we have been on higher alert – our troops,” Lukashenka said. He did not specify who shot them down.

In this regard, the President of Belarus asked to report on the situation around the country “briefly” and “without intimidation.”

On May 13, in the Bryansk region, a Su-34 fighter-bomber, a Su-35 fighter and two Mi-8 helicopters of the Russian Aerospace Forces crashed for a short period of time, Kommersant wrote, citing its sources, specifying that they were all part of one air group. According to the publication, the fighters were supposed to launch a missile and bomb attack on targets in the Chernihiv region of Ukraine, and helicopters were supposed to provide them with insurance. The crews of all four aircraft were killed.

The Ministry of Defense did not officially name the reasons for the death of the aircraft.
