Esmeraldas
A structural fire destroyed two cane and wood houses in the sector known as La Favela, in the Casa Bonita neighborhood, south of the city of Esmeraldas.
The emergency was reported by ECU911 to the Esmeraldas Fire Department, after 6:00 p.m. on Monday 22.
María Arboleda, owner of one of the affected homes, said that she was washing clothes in the river located a few blocks from her house, when neighbors came to that place to inform her that her property was on fire. There they indicated that their three children were safe.
Arboleda assured that he left his appliances and the closed kitchen burners disconnected, for which he presumes that the fire started in a neighbor’s house and then spread to his residence. The flames also partially affected another adjoining home.
Firefighters from the San Rafael and March 15 stations attended the emergency and technicians from the Inspection Department carried out the expert report on the spot to investigate the causes that caused the fire, said David Loor, a spokesman for the institution.
At least 19 emergencies were attended by the personnel of the Fire Department in the province of Esmeraldas, between the 15th and 21st of this month. In that period there were fourteen cases of brush burning, two structural fires, among other developments. (I)
