Assistant for International Affairs of the Brazilian President Celso Amorim visited Kiev and met with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Melnyk and other members of the Ukrainian leadership, the Folha de São Paulo newspaper reports.
“The dialogue was positive, confidence-building, and aimed at clarifying our peace goals,” Amorim told reporters, adding that he did not want to share more information as the government should make it official soon.
At the same time, he noted that “there is no immediate solution for the world” and “it will not be easy to come to an agreement.” According to the representative of the Brazilian president, “both sides will have to come to an understanding that the cost of continuing hostilities will be higher than the price of individual concessions.”
According to the newspaper O Globo, the Ukrainian government plans to deliver Amorim to areas affected by the military operation in order to attract the attention of the Brazilian authorities.
