Former president of the Ukrainian company Motor Sich, Vyacheslav Boguslaev, who is in custody on charges of treason, asked the Ukrainian authorities to include him on the list for an exchange with Russia. He sent a corresponding letter to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, RBC reports.
According to media reports, 84-year-old Boguslaev signed a handwritten letter with a request as “a pensioner and disabled person of group I.”
The coordinating headquarters of Ukraine for the treatment of prisoners of war, commenting on the situation, said that Kyiv would continue to use “all available tools” to return Ukrainians to their homeland. “But as for specific cases and names, we can only comment on the results,” said Andrey Yusov, a representative of the headquarters.
The head of the SBU, Vasily Malyuk, did not rule out the exchange of Boguslaev before, but noted that for this, the ex-head of the plant would have to give all the necessary evidence. The same condition was called in the office of the President of Ukraine.
Boguslaev was placed in a pre-trial detention center in the fall of 2022 on charges of treason and collaboration activities. The case against him is related to “illegal supply by Motor Sich of military goods for Russian attack aircraft.”
