Former US President Donald Trump called a parody of justice the decision of the jury in the case of accusations against him of rape and defamation. It is reported by TASS.

“[Окружной судья Нью-Йорка Льюис] Kaplan hated President Donald Trump more than is possible <…>. This case should never have even been considered. <…>. This whole fabricated hoax is yet another travesty of justice and a continuation of the greatest witch hunt in history,” Trump tweeted on Truth Social on Wednesday.

Trump was found guilty by a jury in New York on Tuesday in a civil lawsuit filed by writer Elizabeth Jean Carroll, who accused him of harassment and slander.

In 2019, Carroll, who was a columnist for several publications, published a book alleging that in late 1995 or early 1996, Trump raped her in a fitting room in a downtown New York store. She had already filed a corresponding lawsuit in court, but the case then did not get a move. In November 2022, an American filed a new lawsuit against the ex-president, accusing him of defamation and denying the fact of rape. Trump has repeatedly denied these accusations, saying he never met Carroll.
