The West should not be afraid of Russia and should continue to provide assistance to Ukraine, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said during his speech in the European Parliament.
Thus, he commented on the Victory Parade held in Moscow, where President Vladimir Putin, according to the head of the German government, “deployed his soldiers, tanks and missiles,” RBC reports. “Do not be afraid of such a demonstration of power! Let’s remain unwavering in our support for Ukraine,” Scholz said.
He also stressed that Europe should not return to the times when the “law of the strongest” was in effect and small countries had to obey larger ones. “A prosperous, democratic, European Ukraine is the clearest rejection of imperial, revisionist, illegal policies on our continent,” the Chancellor said.
Recall that the parade in Moscow was held in honor of the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It consisted of a foot part and the passage of columns of military equipment, aviation was not involved this year, as well as tanks, except for the T-34, which opened the passage of equipment.
