TVP showed the Eurovision semi-final online. Lithuania left the stage and suddenly it was over

Eurovision 2023 takes place in Liverpool this year. The fans of the competition could follow the first semi-final from 21:00 on the official channel of the competition on YouTube. The first performances were also shown by TVP via online transmission, but this ended quickly.

Eurovision 2023 has officially started. During the first semi-final of this year’s competition, 15 countries took the stage in Liverpool. Among them, the representative of Poland, Blanka, with the song “Solo” did not appear. The artist will present the song only in the second semi-final, which will take place on Thursday.

The report from the event could be watched on Polish Television from 21:00. The broadcast was also available on the official Eurovision channel – Eurovision Song Contest on YouTube. The performances were also shown by TVP on its website tvp.pl. However, the relationship only lasted for a while. Suddenly, the broadcast on the website of Telewizja Polska was interrupted.

After Lithuania’s performance, a screen appeared on the screen with the words “End” and “Thank you, the broadcast has ended”. The rest of the competition was no longer available online for Polish-speaking fans of the event. It is difficult to say what were the reasons for the interruption of live coverage. Perhaps there were more people willing to watch Eurovision 2023 than expected and the servers were down. Or maybe everything went according to plan, and the teaser on the web was supposed to encourage Internet users to move in front of TV sets? Regardless of the reasons for the interruption of the connection on the stream.tvp.pl website, where you can usually watch TVP programs live, there was no full coverage of Eurovision.
