The state of emergency has been declared in the Omsk region due to wildfires. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the Acting Governor of the region Vitaly Khotsenko.
According to him, from May 9 until further notice, a ban was also introduced on all types of hunting in 11 northern districts of the Omsk region: Bolsherechensky, Bolsheukovsky, Znamensky, Kolosovsky, Krutinsky, Muromtsevsky, Sedelnikovsky, Tarsky, Tevrizsky, Tyukalinsky and Ust-Ishimsky.
“In the Omsk region, an extremely fire-hazardous and tense situation is now developing, which is complicated by hot weather, high wind load and lack of precipitation,” Khotsenko noted. “The northern and central part of the region is in the zone of particular risk.”
The head of the region instructed the heads of districts to strengthen daily monitoring of the situation related to fires, to inform the population. The regional Ministry of Finance was instructed to consider the issue of allocating funds to support districts in extinguishing fires and acquiring the necessary special equipment.
On the eve of the state of emergency due to forest fires was introduced in the Kurgan and Tyumen regions.
