The collapse of the carousel in Orenburg injured 20 people. Two of them – a woman and a ten-year-old girl – are in serious condition, said the Minister of Health of the Orenburg region Tatyana Savinova.
She also clarified that there were 12 children among the victims. Eight people, after being examined by doctors, were sent for outpatient treatment with superficial bruises and abrasions. 12 people, including six children, were sent to four hospitals in Orenburg.
One woman received multiple injuries, she is on a ventilator in intensive care, her condition is extremely serious. Also in intensive care is a ten-year-old girl who breathes on her own, Savinova added. Another ten patients are in moderate condition and are being treated in trauma departments, she said.
Recall that on the afternoon of May 6, the Chain carousel collapsed in an amusement park in Orenburg. City Hall said the collapse was due to a mechanical failure. A criminal case has been initiated on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements.
