In St. Petersburg, a criminal case has been initiated on violations during the construction of alluvium in the Vasileostrovsky district. The case was brought under Art. 246 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the rules of environmental protection in the course of work).
According to the RF IC, unidentified employees of the LSR Specialized Developer LLC group of companies, including LLC Specialized Developer LSR Prostor, from October 2021 to the present, when performing work to improve (restore) the characteristics of land plots located in Vasileostrovsky district, “violated federal law by arranging the foundation with sandy soils, erecting temporary bank protection of the slope type.”
Investigators believe that these works are dangerous for the environment: possible dispersion of pollutants, which can lead to harm to public health if the maximum permissible concentrations of hazardous pollutants in the air are exceeded.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin instructed to initiate a criminal case after a comment was left on the account of the information center of the Russian Investigative Committee about disagreement with the ongoing construction work on alluvium on the coast of the Gulf of Finland in the Vasileostrovsky district.
