“The Last Supper” is a 2022 film directed by Bartosz M. Kowalski. He is also responsible for one of the first Polish slashers “In the forest today, no one will fall asleep”, in which Julia Wieniawa played the main role. The action of the production takes place in 1987, and the main character is a young militiaman Marek, who, after the mysterious disappearance of several inmates in a madhouse run by monks, decides to take a closer look at the case. In order to gain the trust of the clergy, he poses as a clergyman and tries to infiltrate the structures there to discover the truth.
Netflix’s Polish horror for a long time breaks into the consciousness of the British
The main roles were played by Piotr Żurawski, Olaf Lubaszenko and Sebastian Stankiewicz. From the beginning, the film aroused interest around the world. In early November last year, “The Last Supper” ranked fifth in the global Top 10 Foreign Language Films on Netflix. Interestingly, if English-language titles were also taken into account, the Polish film would be in the top ten – the result of 10.470 million hours spent watching it gave it seventh place in the ranking.
However, the dark story of wicked clerics continues to arouse much interest and, as it turns out, chills the blood. The British tabloid “” reports that local horror fans cannot sleep after the screening of the Polish film, and their daily habits have changed. They even describe their condition as “constantly haunted” by this production.

The creators of the film have not mentioned anything about the continuation so far, but since viewers from around the world are impressed with this production, it’s quite possible that Netflix will order the next part soon. It is worth noting that the aforementioned “No one will fall asleep in the forest today” received the second part, but did not arouse such interest on the international market.
