In St. Petersburg, at the Chernyshevskaya metro station, after the dismantling of old equipment, the next stage of reconstruction began. Now specialists are carrying out concrete work in the inclined course of the station.

“Chernyshevskaya is one of the busiest and most popular stations on the red line of the St. Petersburg metro. It is important that its reconstruction be carried out on time and with proper quality,” commented Alexander Beglov, Governor of the Northern Capital.

Until the end of August this year, specialists will lay more than 1,000 cubic meters of building material.

In addition, in the near future, the metro builders will dismantle the supports erected for the old escalators. This is necessary in order to create four instead of three escalators at the station. This will increase the capacity of Chernyshevskaya by about 6.5 thousand people a day.

Recall that the Chernyshevskaya metro station was closed for reconstruction from October 25. The station is open for entry and exit.

Four new escalators will be placed in the lobby instead of three old ones. During the renovation, it is planned to change the entrance group of the lobby, repair the facades while preserving the front stained-glass window and types of finishes, and replace the entrance doors for people with limited mobility. Chernyshevskaya will open only in May 2024.
