FSB investigators charged a citizen of the Russian Federation, deputy head of the testing laboratory of the capital’s arms factory Promtekhnologiya, which produces hunting and sporting rifles under the ORSIS brand, with high treason in favor of foreign countries. According to TASS, the capital’s court has already sent the accused to a pre-trial detention center.
“FSB investigators charged with a crime under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Treason”), in relation to a Russian citizen Dmitry Alexandrovich Kichi. He was arrested in Moscow and is being held in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center, where investigative actions are being carried out with him as part of a criminal investigation,” the law enforcement agencies said.
The sanction of the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation imputed to the weapon specialist Kiche provides for a maximum punishment of up to 20 years in prison.
The Lefortovsky Court of Moscow confirmed the election, as well as the extension for two months, of the preventive measure in the form of arrest against the accused, but declined to comment further, citing the fact that the criminal case contains materials marked “secret”.
