The attacked side during the fighting has the right to enter the territory of the enemy, for example, to cut off supply lines. If the military of Ukraine does this in relation to Russia, it will be “absolutely normal,” German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said on ZDF.
“As long as cities, civilians, civilian objects are not attacked, this will have to be put up with,” RBC quotes a statement from the German minister.
At the same time, commenting on the issue of future supplies from the West to Ukraine, Pistorius stressed that it is necessary to pay attention to how the hostilities are being conducted. So, according to him, if Kyiv requests certain types of bombs that are recognized as illegal throughout the world, then “should be refused.”
The minister also commented on the topic of Ukraine’s accession to NATO, calling for decisions on this issue “with a cool head and a warm heart, and not vice versa.” In his opinion, Kyiv’s accession to the alliance can only happen after the end of the conflict with Russia. Now “the door is ajar,” but it’s not the time for such decisions, the minister said, suggesting that Ukraine could be accepted “simply out of a sense of solidarity.”
