Sudan’s rapid reaction forces (special forces) on Sunday shot down a plane belonging to the republic’s army, TASS reports citing Sky News Arabia TV channel.
At the same time, representatives of the SBR said on social networks that “the Sukhoi plane was shot down.” Additional details are not provided.
The day before, the Al Hadath TV channel reported that Sudanese special forces fighters captured several Russian-made military aircraft located at an airbase near the city of Merov in the north of the country.
Recall that in Sudan, the second day the armed conflict continues between the army and detachments of the rapid reaction forces. The sounds of gunshots and heavy artillery can be heard on the morning of April 16 in the capital of Sudan, Khartoum, as well as in neighboring Omdurman and Bahri, Al Jazeera TV channel reports.
At least 56 civilians were killed during the clashes, according to the Sudanese Medical Union. Another 595 people, including those involved in the fighting, were injured. Deaths were recorded in Khartoum, Omdurman, Nyala, El Obeid and El Fasher, Reuters clarifies, citing doctors.
