Due to one of the superstitions, the gift was refused

Their belief in superstitions did not allow the gift to be accepted by the girl’s parents. For the godmother, it was a huge blow and a sense of defeat that she had failed from the start. AND a cross for such people given as a gift means “laying a cross on the child’s shoulders that will carry it all his life”.
