The Administration of the Central District of St. Petersburg plans to turn Dumskaya Street and Lomonosov Street into a cultural and gastronomic space. Now this is an area where bars and clubs were concentrated before the police raids.
“I would like it to be an attractive tourist place that will work within the framework of the current legislation and in compliance with the order. And so that Dumskaya would not be a Spanish shame, but a place where business could develop, observing the interests of guests and residents of the city, ”Elena Fedorova, head of the district, told Fontanka.
When asked how to attract new business if the bar premises remain sealed as material evidence, Elena Fedorova said that the district authorities are going to change the environment together with the business community and get rid of the negativity that Dumskaya Street is now associated with. According to Fedorova, this will help attract law-abiding businessmen to the location.
Recall that on the night of April 8, security forces and firefighters raided the bars on Lomonosov Street, checking 13 establishments, 10 of them were sealed as material evidence in a criminal case on the introduction of alcohol to minors. Earlier, in a similar way, the security forces stopped the work of 17 establishments on Dumskaya.
