Ukrainian athletes were banned from competing with the Russians. According to RBC, the order of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine is published on the agency’s website.

“Prohibit the official delegations of the national teams of Ukraine from participating in international sports competitions in which athletes from the Russian Federation and / or Belarus take part,” the order says.

In case of violation of the requirement, sports federations will be deprived of the status of national ones. Also, officials of the Ministry of Sports get the right to recall delegations from business trips if Russian and Belarusian athletes participate in the competition.

The order came after a statement from the International Olympic Committee (IOC). On January 25, the organization announced the possibility of admission to international competitions of those Russians and Belarusians who did not actively support the special operation and did not violate the anti-doping code.

After that, in Ukraine, Latvia and Poland they announced that they would allow a boycott of the Olympics in Paris if Russians and Belarusians were allowed there. Oleg Nemchinov, a member of the executive committee of the Ukrainian Olympic Committee, said at the end of March that national athletes were banned from participating in the qualifying competitions for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris along with the Russians.
