The Ministry of Education is systematizing the military-patriotic education of schoolchildren – together with other departments, a “concept” has been developed to prepare students for military service. According to RBC, Minister Sergei Kravtsov announced this at the New Philosophy of Education forum.
“We have prepared with the Ministry of Defense, the Knowledge Society, Rosmolodezh, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Culture, such a holistic concept for preparing for military service,” Kravtsov said.
In addition, the Ministry of Education agreed with the Ministry of Defense that “the module of initial military training, which is within the framework of the subject of life safety, will be implemented as much as possible in the Avangard center.
Avangard is an educational and methodological center for the military-patriotic education of youth. It was established by the government of Moscow and the Moscow region with the support of the Ministry of Defense. The task of the center is “education and upbringing of the younger generation in the spirit of love for the motherland and popularization of military and public service among the youth.”
Last year, the Ministry of Education proposed to include military and medical training in the life safety course for high school students. In November, the department said that classes in basic military training will appear in schools in the next academic year and will be extracurricular.
