The activities of the program for the overhaul of apartment buildings in St. Petersburg require an increase in budget support or an increase in the size of contributions from citizens. This was stated by the head of the city housing committee Oleg Zotov.

“To carry out major repairs, the most important thing is money. Our source of money is contributions from Petersburgers and a budget subsidy. Indeed, until recently, the amount of the contribution was significantly lower than the level that made it possible to fulfill all obligations for the implementation of the program, but this contribution corresponded to the capabilities of St. Petersburg residents, ”Zotov explained to reporters at a TASS press conference.

Therefore, a second source of funding is used in the form of subsidies from the city treasury, which to some extent cover the lack of funds.

“In 2021, the subsidy amounted to zero rubles, in 2022 – 3 billion rubles, in 2023 – 6 billion rubles. This allows us, let’s say, to restrain the growth of the overhaul contribution. In 2022, we did not increase the amount of the contribution – it was only indexed taking into account the price growth index, ”added Zotov.

Officially, the Housing Committee told Petersburg Diary: “There are no plans to increase the amount of contributions in the near future.”

Initially, the total cost of events in almost 22 thousand houses of the city was estimated by Smolny at 502 billion rubles. According to the housing committee, to date, since 2014, a little less than 100 billion rubles have been spent on capital repairs in St. Petersburg – about 29 thousand types of work have been carried out with these funds.

In 2023, the amount of funds for the overhaul of houses in St. Petersburg, taking into account design work, will amount to 28.4 billion rubles, including budget support of 6 billion rubles. It is planned to spend 27.5 billion rubles directly on construction and installation work.
