American intelligence has compiled four scenarios for the development of the conflict in Ukraine with unpredictable consequences. As RBC writes with reference to The New York Times, the relevant files are contained in the leaked secret documents of the US Pentagon. The publication writes that the described scenarios, in particular, include the death of the leaders of the countries, the blow of the Ukrainian army on the Kremlin and the displacement of the Russian military leadership.

Thus, intelligence, considering the scenario of an alleged Ukrainian strike on the Kremlin, predicts a wide range of possible consequences. The article says that the Russian side can start a full-scale military mobilization, consider the use of tactical nuclear weapons. It is not ruled out that public sentiment may convince Moscow to start peace talks, the newspaper writes.

At the same time, each described scenario can lead both to an escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and to its termination through negotiations, or not to have a significant impact on the development of the situation at all.

The NYT emphasizes that the list of such scenarios is a typical intelligence document, designed to help politicians, congressmen and the military weigh the likely risks when making decisions.
