India should play a more important role in resolving the Ukrainian conflict, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova said in an interview with CNBC TV18. Dzhaparova is in India for a four-day visit, which will last until April 12.
According to the diplomat, the conflict in Ukraine cannot be considered as a European problem, since it affects the whole world. Dzheppar also added that Ukraine is looking forward to the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Kyiv and awaits an invitation to the G20, which is now led by India.
On April 8, The Hindu, citing diplomatic sources, reported that Ukraine had asked India for additional humanitarian assistance, including medicines, medical and energy equipment. Kyiv’s request will be discussed during Dzhaparova’s visit to the country. In addition, the Ukrainian leadership wants President Volodymyr Zelensky to be invited to speak online at the G20 leaders’ summit, as was the case in Bali last year. In 2023, the G20 summit is scheduled for September 9-10 in New Delhi.
