Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov invited foreign specialists to the country, including pilots with experience in flying F-16 fighter jets. He stated this at a joint briefing in Odessa with Danish Defense Minister Troels Poulsen, RBC reports.
Reznikov invited foreigners to work for Ukraine, who have to serve self-propelled artillery mounts (ACS), as well as tanks, which Kyiv expects from Western countries. “This also applies to pilots. If there are pilots who know how to fly the F-16 and are ready to take part, the foreign legion is ready to open the doors, ”the minister emphasized.
Recall that the decision to transfer Western-style tanks to Ukraine was announced by the United States, Great Britain and Germany in January. We are talking about the American M1 Abrams, the German Leopard 2 and the British Challenger 2. Kyiv has been seeking them since 2022. After the decision on tanks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Kyiv wants to get Western fighters. According to Politico, this idea is supported by the Baltic countries. Poland believes that it will not be easy for the West to make such a decision.
