The course “Fundamentals of Russian Statehood” will be introduced in the universities of the Russian Federation from September 2023. This is stated in the message on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.
“The course will be introduced to universities from September 2023. 3,000 teachers from 562 Russian universities took part in its development and discussion.
They added that the new course, which will include both lectures and seminars, is designed for 72 hours, of which 18-20 hours are extracurricular work.
According to Andrey Polosin, scientific director of the DNA of Russia project, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, whose words are quoted by the press service of the department, the course will consist of five parts: “What is Russia”, “Russian state-civilization” , “Russian outlook and values of Russian civilization”, “Political structure” and “Challenges of the future and development of the country”.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov, who was quoted by the press service of the department, in turn noted that “it is important that this be mutual influence, that is, not just a symbiosis of different disciplines, but also mutual influence of the disciplinary course on other human sciences and society.”
He stressed that the next step after the introduction of the course “Fundamentals of Russian Statehood” should be a revision of school social science.
In addition, the minister added that on the basis of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation, a program of additional professional education is planned for representatives of flagship universities. Training will begin in April.
