Investigators in the Tula region have solved the case of the disappearance of a five-year-old boy who went missing in October 2020. It was established that his stepfather killed him and buried the body in the forest, according to the regional Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
According to the materials of the investigation, from the summer of 2020 to the autumn of 2022, the 33-year-old mother of the deceased boy lived with her 28-year-old cohabitant in the Bogoroditsky district in the house they rented. In October 2020, the woman left for a week, leaving her five-year-old child in the care of her stepfather.
A few days later, the man, angry at the disobedience of the child, deliberately inflicted bodily harm on him, from which the boy died. Waking up at night, the man found that the child did not show signs of life, and, frightened of the consequences, wrapped him in a blanket and took him to the forest belt, where he buried the body, the investigators established.
According to the report, in 2023, investigators received information on the basis of which the suspect was detained. During interrogation, the man confessed to his deed and showed the place where he buried the child’s body.
At the same time, the department does not specify why the boy’s mother did not report his murder and where she has been since he disappeared.
A criminal case has been initiated against the man on the intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, which resulted in the death of the victim. Forensic medical and molecular genetic examinations have been scheduled. In the near future, the investigation will petition for the conclusion of the suspect in custody.
