Natalia Szroeder is one of the most popular young Polish singers today. The 28-year-old released her first single “Jane” in 2012 and has since evolved significantly musically. In 2021, her last album “Reverberation” was released, which gained the sympathy of listeners. The album itself quickly went gold.
Natalia Szroeder is honest about her health
Despite the great recognition for her musical achievements, the artist still struggles with negative comments about herself. They largely concern her weight. Many Internet users accuse her of promoting unhealthy values because she is very thin. Some commenters call it “unhealthy thinness.”
Natalia Szroeder was the last guest on Magda Mołek’s podcast. In the conversation, she referred to these opinions, confessing that her figure is not a matter of choice, but the result of health problems. – They do not care what is the source of the fact that I look like this – comments the singer.
Later in the interview, she admitted that for many years she had problems with eating due to stress. Under its influence, the artist stops eating:
For me, a lot has to do with food. My stomach reacts strongly to everything that is going on in my life. For stress, for good, for bad things. He likes to play pranks on me and it’s hard to predict how he will behave at any given moment
One nervous situation is enough for the singer to not be able to look at any meal for the rest of the day. – It doesn’t even have to be some constant stress that lasts, it can be one short stimulus, some overheard sentence that stresses me out. And I’ve been through the day when it comes to food. (…) When something happens, regardless of whether it is extremely great or extremely good, I have a kind of, to use a thicker word, aversion to food – admits Szroeder.
What is body shaming?
The phenomenon of reproaching someone for the features of their appearance is called bodyshaming. Not only people who are told they are too fat are at risk of this, but also people who are told they are too thin. The artist admitted that comments about her appearance are not indifferent to her and admitted that some have a bad effect on her mental health.
