Despite the initial and intimate resistance to the title of this column, due to the one-dimensionality and triteness of the proposal, it was ultimately materialized in the text, because without education, everything else: security, economy, institutions, environmental care, equality, appropriate coexistence, cannot be visualized relevantly and , therefore, neither can they be properly handled.

Civic education that analyzes coexistence, ways of solving it and that enables individuals to consciously incorporate into their understanding the need to build and strengthen structures for the common good, dignity, justice, nature conservation, tolerance and respect for life.

If education in general, the one we have at home, the one we acquire in everyday life and the one we access in the system, works on these issues, the consequences of that process will be positive because it will contribute to the formation of citizens who are aware of the fragility of balance, the importance of harmony and foundations policies and actions for the stability and well-being of the entire community.

And if we try democracy…

Because what we have done so far as citizens is a disaster: corruption that devastates public resources, severed heads and thrown on the streets and roads as a sign of defiance and lawlessness, galloping poverty and misery that marks and devalues lives and destinies, insecurity that hurts souls due to the absence of effective a measure to protect citizens from pirates and bandits and others, fear and anxiety, sadness and desolation, skepticism, cynicism, anger and helplessness.

The state must strengthen public education in a special way, which must reach the highest level…

The education we receive is not adequate because “we didn’t understand or don’t understand anything”. Social elites who have more resources and have access to better training, under quotation marks, and politicians, are not up to the task because they do not commit to others, and their sense of solidarity and seeking collective well-being is null, and they even despise others. The poor enjoy their spaces. objects and empty phenomena. Those who have less and those who have almost nothing survive as they know how and repeat the bad behavior of those who possess political, economic or social power, developing behaviors similar to those of elites and politicians, essentially amoral, with differences. in form, since actions coming from both are equally harmful when they try against life, balance, well-being and social harmony.

The state must in a special way strengthen public education, which must reach the highest level, and for this it must have the necessary means that enable it to effectively influence the collective understanding of the importance of social care for nature. and life in general. Only when public education is a real priority will we be able to think about a better future for everyone, because the right concepts and effective actions for coexistence and harmony come from well-educated people. Education to save us. (OR)
