Cash app It has lost its founder. Technical manager Bob Lee was fatally stabbed in San Francisco early Tuesday, according to police.

The San Francisco Police Department made the announcement in a press release officers responded to a report of a stabbing on Main Street at 2:35 a.m. Tuesday and found a 43-year-old man with visible stab wounds. He later died in hospital.

Lee’s death was confirmed by Josh Goldbard, CEO of MobileCoin, the company where Lee currently worked.

“Our dear friend and colleague, Bob Lee passed away yesterday at the age of 43, and is survived by a loving family and many close friends and associates,” MobileCoin’s CEO said in a statement.

“Bob was a dynamo, a force of nature. Bob was authentic. He was created for the world that was just being born, he was a dream child and everything he imagined, no matter how crazy, he achieved. From large contributions to Android at Google, to be Square’s first CTOat that time creating CashAppand working with us here at MobileCoin, Bob has certainly made an impact that will last beyond his short time on earth,” he said.

Lee came to MobileCoin as an early stage investor and advisor, and later became a product manager and helped launch the Moby app. In 2013, he launched the payment application CashApp, which is used in the United States and Great Britain.

No arrests have been made in the case, and San Francisco police have not released any details possible suspects.
