The court chose as a preventive measure the detention of a woman accused of killing her seven-month-old son in one of the hospitals in Penza. This is reported by TASS with reference to the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Penza region.
“The woman was detained, she was charged with the murder of a minor, obviously for her being in a helpless state. The court granted the investigator’s petition to order her a measure of restraint in the form of detention, ”the regional investigation department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation said in a statement.
A criminal case was initiated under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation in relation to a 24-year-old citizen of a foreign state. According to investigators, on the evening of January 30, 2023, the woman was hospitalized with her son in one of the hospitals in Penza. She deliberately closed his airway with her hand, as a result of which the boy died from mechanical asphyxia.
Now investigators and criminologists are conducting a set of investigative actions to establish all the circumstances of the crime and consolidate the evidence base. Several forensic examinations were appointed in the case.
