The Kremlin today published a new concept of Russian foreign policy. In the corresponding document, Russia is called “an original country-civilization”, as well as “a vast Eurasian and Euro-Pacific power.”
It adds that the attitude of the Russian Federation towards other states and interstate associations is determined by the constructive, neutral or unfriendly nature of their policy towards the Russian Federation.
The previous version was approved on November 30, 2016. Then there was no definition of Russia, it was also said that the modern world is going through a period of profound changes, the essence of which lies in the formation of a polycentric international system. In addition, there was no division of countries into friendly, neutral and unfriendly.
The new concept states that the Russian Federation does not consider itself an enemy of the West, does not isolate itself from it and does not have hostile intentions towards it. The document also says that Russia views the US course as the main source of anti-Russian policy and risks to its security.
