President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that he does not hold on to power and is not going to die as head of state. It is reported by TASS.

Speaking with a message to the Belarusian people and parliament, Lukashenka stressed that the people should choose the head of state. “But I tell you right away: I ate. You decide. And stop talking about it today. Until the last days in my position – I’m not going to die – I will work for the good of our country. I will never be a lame duck,” Lukashenka said.

“This does not mean that I will hold on to this position due to circumstances,” he added. – No no and one more time no. I think about the future,” the head of state said. “Like all of you, I have children, grandchildren who should live in a peaceful and independent country. I understand more than others that if there is no Lukashenka, then his children will be pressed from all sides. And this is unacceptable for me,” he said. “They will crush and poison your children, especially those who stood next to you in 2020 and survived. They will mock people in uniform. I think about it,” Lukashenka said.

Lukashenka also said that his children would not become presidents.

“We must stop all talk about succession, heredity, my children will not be presidents,” he said, speaking with a message to the people and the parliament of the country.
