The State Russian Museum has set a new rule – pensioners will be able to visit it for free one day a month.
“From April 1, 2023, a free visit to the Russian Museum for pensioners has been introduced every first Wednesday of the month. Tickets can only be obtained at the museum’s box office upon presentation of documents,” the museum’s press service said.
Previously, the right to visit the Russian Museum free of charge was granted to participants and invalids of the Great Patriotic War, residents of besieged Leningrad, invalids of the 1st and 2nd groups with one accompanying person, members of large families, children under 14, etc.
Pensioners of the Russian Federation and the EAEU countries can also visit the Main Museum Complex of the St. Petersburg Hermitage free of charge on Thursdays. On other days of the week, pensioners have a reduced price for entrance tickets to the Main Museum Complex – 300 rubles, as well as the opportunity to visit the General Staff Building and the Museum of the Imperial Porcelain Factory without a guided tour.
