Six of the seven parties registered in the country made it to the Mazhilis (lower house of parliament) of Kazakhstan. It is reported by RBC with reference to the data of the CEC, which summed up the final results of the elections.
The places were distributed as follows:
the ruling party “Amanat” – 53.9% of the vote (3.4 million people voted) and 40 seats in parliament;
People’s Democratic Patriotic Party “Auyl” – 10.9% (693 thousand), eight mandates;
Respublica Party – 8.59% (547 thousand), six mandates;
Democratic Party of Kazakhstan “Ak Zhol” – 8.41% (535 thousand), six mandates;
People’s Party of Kazakhstan (NPK) – 6.8% (432 thousand), five mandates;
National Social Democratic Party (OSDP) – 5.2% (331 thousand), four mandates.
The Green Party “Baytak” did not overcome the 5% barrier.
According to the CEC, 54.19% of voters, or 6.5 million people (out of 12 million), voted. This is the lowest figure in at least the last ten years. In the last elections, in 2021, the turnout was 63.3%, in the elections in 2016 – 77%.
