At the XXII International Forum “Ecology of the Big City”, which opened on March 22 at the “Expoforum”, this year the stands of the universities of St. Petersburg were organized to demonstrate to visitors new environmental opportunities in the field of education.
SUAI presented three areas of training: technosphere safety, environmental management of water use and biotechnology. They are included in the nuclear areas of the university as part of the Priority 2030 program.
“For our students, this is a good chance to meet future employers, show themselves, their skills, exchange contacts and agree on internships, internships and even employment. For the department and the university, this is an opportunity to introduce themselves to the city, to show the directions that we are implementing,” emphasized Vlada Smirnova, associate professor of the Department of Innovation and Integrated Quality Systems of the SUAI.

On March 24, within the framework of the youth program of the event, the conference “Ecointelligence of the New Time” was held, at which representatives of the SUAI spoke. It was organized by the Committee for Nature Management, Environmental Protection and Ensuring Ecological Safety of the Government of St. Petersburg.
The main goal of the forum is to introduce the latest environmental protection equipment and technologies in Russia to conserve natural resources and ensure environmental safety. In 2023, the focus is on the protection of water bodies, waste management and adaptation to climate change.
“Today we are working on the development of park spaces in the forest — a separate law has been introduced that will regulate this activity. Much work has been done on the use of specially protected natural areas. The topic of water bodies, clearing our rivers is also in the constant focus of attention, and all this indicates the relevance of today’s discussion platform,” said Alexander Dvoinykh, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian Food Policy and Environmental Management.
This year, 37 business events were held as part of the forum, and more than 50 companies became participants in the exhibition.
