The level of approval by Americans for the work of Joe Biden as President of the United States in the country dropped to 38% amid the banking crisis. This is reported by TASS with reference to the results of a survey published by the Associated Press.
According to the study, Biden’s job approval rating has dropped to near the lowest level of his entire tenure in the White House. In February, Biden’s work was supported by 45% of respondents, in January 41%.
The poll was conducted March 16–20 among 1,081 Americans. The statistical error is 4 percentage points.
On March 10, the Department of Financial Protection of the US state of California announced the bankruptcy of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB). One of Silicon Valley’s leading tech lenders went bust in less than two days. As CNN noted, this was the largest bank failure in the United States since the financial crisis of 2008. SVB was placed under the administration of the Federal Deposit Insurance Commission. March 12 was followed by the bankruptcy of the New York Signature Bank.
