Elina Akhmatova, a dermatovenereologist at the FSCC FMBA of Russia, told Gazeta.Ru how to recognize one that can be dangerous among moles. According to the doctor, there are five classic symptoms in dermoscopy:

Asymmetry (most often, malignant formations will not be symmetrical; if you draw a conditional line through the middle of the formation, there will be no mirror reflection);

Borders (become uneven, torn);

Color (the malignant process acquires a variegated color, has shades of gray, red, pink, black, white, which are unevenly distributed along the perimeter of the formation);

Diameter (it is worth paying attention to formations with a diameter of more than 6 mm and those that are rapidly changing in size);

The evolution of education (change in size, color, thickness, the appearance of subjective sensations in the form of itching, bleeding, the appearance of a crust on the surface).

“But most often they are already expressed in more advanced cases, and in young melanomas they are almost invisible to the naked eye or absent altogether,” Akhmatova noted. – In order to find that very mole in time, it is necessary to conduct a visual assessment of the formations on the body once a month so as not to miss a new “lodger”. You should not engage in self-examination every day, since with daily diagnostics it will be difficult to assess the dynamics.

The doctor advises to use sunscreen, not to abuse the tan, evaluate the change of moles throughout life and do not forget to visit a dermatologist for a dermatoscopy.
