Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the talks in Moscow will raise, in particular, the topic of the crisis in Ukraine. This was reported by TASS with reference to Yuri Ushakov, Assistant to the President for International Affairs.
According to him, the conflict in Ukraine will be discussed at the meeting. Moscow, he added, highly appreciates the “restrained, measured position” of the Chinese leadership on this issue.
As Ushakov noted, on March 20, Putin and Xi Jinping will publish their articles assessing the state of relations between the two countries. The upcoming publications are, according to the assistant to the president, “an important signal on the eve of the actual negotiations.”
It is expected that following the talks, the leaders of the two countries will sign two joint statements. The first will deal with “deepening comprehensive partnerships and strategic interaction entering a new era”, and the second will deal with “a plan for the development of key areas of Russian-Chinese economic cooperation until 2030.”
According to the Kremlin, the Chinese leader will pay a state visit to Moscow on March 20-22.
