Two children in the Svetloyarsky district of the Volgograd region were poisoned by pills while playing “doctor”. According to RBC with reference to the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a criminal case has been opened.
A nine-year-old boy and a seven-year-old girl, “taking advantage of the lack of control on the part of the mother”, took out a “strong drug” and began to take pills in turn. “After drinking three pieces, the guys lost consciousness,” the department said. Children were hospitalized with symptoms of toxic poisoning.
A case was opened against the mother under article 156 of the Criminal Code (failure to fulfill the obligations of raising a minor, punishment – up to three years in prison). While the children were playing, she “arranged a feast” with her friend.
The police noted that the 37-year-old woman has five children, one of them is an adult. In 2020, she began to abuse alcohol and since then has repeatedly drank alcohol in the presence of children, for which she was brought to administrative responsibility. Now four of her minor children have been placed in a social rehabilitation center, the issue of depriving the suspect of parental rights is being decided.
