The Danish brewing company Carlsberg Group plans to sell all its assets in Russia before the summer. According to TASS, this is stated in the press release of the company, distributed in connection with the decision of its executive director Kees t’Hart to leave his post until the end of the third quarter of this year.
“An additional six months in office will allow me and my team to continue our ambitious plans for 2023 and complete the sale of the Russian business before the summer,” t’Hart, who has served as chief executive since 2015, was quoted by the company as saying.
Carlsberg Group announced the decision to sell all its assets in Russia in March last year, at the same time it stopped investments and exports to Russia, stopped production, sales and advertising of the Carlsberg brand.
In August, Carlsberg Group reported that the decision to leave the Russian market led to the company’s loss of $630 million in the first half of 2022, despite growth in sales in other countries.
