Governor Alexander Beglov met with leaders of public organizations of veterans and blockade survivors. The preparations for the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the enemy blockade and the planned events for the Victory Day were discussed.
The head of the city said that by May 9, veterans and blockade survivors will receive a lump sum cash payment.
In addition, on Monday, Beglov took part in the opening of an emergency department at the Hospital for War Veterans.
The new department expands the capabilities of the hospital, the main patients of which are veterans of the war and military operations, blockade survivors. Now the veterans of the Northern Military District will also be treated and rehabilitated here.
“We are preparing not only hospitals, but also the primary link to work with the participants of the SVO. We are opening new polyclinics with these tasks in mind. I saw one of these today in the Nevsky district, they already have the necessary equipment and specialists. I set my colleagues the task of preparing proposals for the additional equipment of all polyclinics of the city, so that each would have a mini-center for the rehabilitation of participants in the NWO,” the governor said.
