The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has no data confirming the production of nuclear weapons by Iran, said the director general of the organization Rafael Grossi.
Nevertheless, according to him, Iran has uranium enriched to 20% and 60%, which can be used to produce nuclear weapons. However, as Grossi emphasized, its presence does not yet mean that the Islamic Republic produces such weapons. According to the head of the IAEA, neither his organization nor anyone else has data on this.
Grossi also added that Iran is not obliged to explain to the organization the reasons for enriching uranium to 60%. During inspections at nuclear facilities, the IAEA will study the technical side, and not the possible intentions of the country.
Earlier, Tehran allowed the IAEA to carry out verification and monitoring activities and promised to provide access to three nuclear facilities. Details of future site inspections will be discussed during further negotiations. Grossi said yesterday that Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) can build a relationship based on mutual understanding and trust.
