A section of the E15 Muisne – Chamanga highway, in the south of Esmeraldas, is closed by inhabitants of this area who demand repair of local roads.
Esmeraldas
Until noon this Monday, there was no solution to the strike of the communities demanding improvement of roads in Muisne, in the south of the province of Esmeraldas.
Delegates from the Prefecture of Esmeraldas, Road Infrastructure and Productive Development spoke with the leaders of the strike around 09:00.
They offered to send machinery to attend to the improvement of rural roads in the most critical points.
But the leaders refused to accept the proposal and waited for the presence of the prefect Roberta Zambrano.
They demand the improvement of nine neighborhood roads that, according to Zambrano Ortiz, are within the planning of the Prefecture.

Meanwhile, travelers had to walk several sections from Puerto Nuevo, on the E 15 Sur Muisne-Chamanga highway. The blockade of that section remains until the afternoon of this Monday.
That is the site of the protest that started from midnight on Sunday. Doctors, teachers and students were the most affected by the closure of this section of the road.
Also seafood merchants who transported the product from Muisne to Manabí and Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas.
After noon, the leaders of the strike formed a road management commission. (I)
