Exports amount to more than US $ 29 billion in 20 regions of the country

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) announced that between January and September of this year, regional exports (not counting Lima and Callao) totaled US $ 29,382 million, growing 43% over the previous year.

Likewise, the head of said portfolio, Roberto Sánchez, argued that twenty regions from the interior of Peru increased their shipments. These are the cases of Lambayeque (43%), Ayacucho (36%), Amazonas (34%), La Libertad (30%), Ancash (27%), Piura (19%), Moquegua (17%), Tumbes (12 %), Junín (9%) and San Martín (8%), Huancavelica (114%), Ucayali (96%), Madre de Dios (93%), Apurímac (89%), Puno (83%), Loreto ( 79%), Ica (62%), Arequipa (56%), Tacna (49%) and Cusco (48%).

“Among regional shipments, it can be highlighted that, on the north coast, exports of fishmeal and fish oil, gold, squid and fruit increased. In the center of the country, growth stands out due to the greater export of iron, tin and fruit. The south, on the other hand, has been favored by the increase in international metal prices. In the case of the jungle, exports of gold, oil, palm oil and cocoa beans rose, ”said Sánchez.

Export growth

Through a press release, the Mincetur announced that, between January and September, all southern regions increased exports due to the high participation of mining. The regions that increased their copper sales were Apurímac, Arequipa, Cusco and Moquegua. On the other hand, Puno increased its shipments of gold, copper and trout.

Growth by regions

Regarding the jungle, Ucayali was the region that had the highest sales of avocado oil and forest products. Madre de Dios for the increase in sales of gold and walnuts. Loreto for the largest oil sale. Amazonas for the export of coffee and San Martín for the export of cocoa and palm oil.
