Poll: Russians called socks and underwear the worst gift

The Rabota.ru and YuMoney services conducted a study, the results of which found out whether Russians congratulate colleagues on gender holidays, what gifts they consider appropriate and how much they are willing to spend on them. The results of the study are cited by Gazeta.Ru.

Thus, 76% of respondents confirmed that colleagues in their companies congratulate each other on holidays. At the same time, according to the respondents, socks and underwear are the worst gift. This was stated by 60% of the respondents. Next in the anti-rating are clothes and shoes (36%), as well as bath and shower sets (35%). In addition, Russians consider alcohol (27%) and coupons for discounts in stores (23%) to be inappropriate gifts.

Respondents consider treats and sweets to be the best gifts (49%). Next come flowers (46%) and certificates to shops (41%)

It is noteworthy that one of the most popular categories of gifts – cosmetics and perfumery – took sixth place both in the anti-rating and in the ranking of the best gifts.

According to YuKassa, on the eve of March 8, sales among jewelry increased 7.2 times compared to the same period last year. The turnover of online sites that sell such products has tripled. The average check became 59% less and amounted to 4,460 rubles.
