MTC allocates more than S/ 850 million for works in Puno this 2023

The Minister of Transport and Communications, Paola Lazarteannounced that the sector allocates more than S/ 850 million for bridge and highway works in the Puno region this 2023.

“This year we will carry out an important investment package in the Puno region that will allow it to reactivate its economy and, above all, improve its essential road connectivity for the development of the towns,” said the minister.

Among the road investment package, the head of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) guaranteed the execution of 75 kilometers of the Checca-Mazocruz highway, which will require an investment of S/389 million soles and will benefit more than 108,000 citizens. .

In addition, S/ 410 million will be invested for the routine maintenance of 765 kilometers that correspond to road corridors such as Puno–Desaguadero, Mililaya–Tilali–Bolivia Border Detour, Sicuani–Pucara–Calapuja, etc. On the other hand, the MTC will transfer S/24.9 million to the Regional Government of Puno for the maintenance of 1,665 km of departmental and local roads.

“We are going to ensure proper compliance with the investment,” said Minister Lazarte.

Regarding the investment in bridges, the MTC has allocated S/ 24.2 million for the construction of 60 infrastructures, with a length of between 10 and 20 meters, in provinces such as Carabaya, Azángaro, Chucuito, Lampa, Sandia, Melgar, among others. others.

Similarly, 13 modular bridges will be installed, for an investment of more than S/10 million soles, in Chinga, Huariquisani, Cruz Pampa, Amotire, Kalapachita, Pojtiri Patal, Kaquencora de Choroma, etc.

“With this shock of investment in works, we will make every effort to reactivate the economy and development of our brothers in Puno. These works in the short term represent the union and reconciliation of the Peruvian people”, concluded Lazarte.
